The Courtyard Apartment

The two storey dwelling, showcasing a marriage of traditional architecture with contemporary interiors, has been planned around a nucleus—its courtyard, which is reminiscent of the traditional South Indian mutram.. All the spaces in the home are linked to this courtyard, either physically or visually. The living and dining area and the primary bedroom all overlook the courtyard.

Moreover, this residential design features an earthy colour scheme and material palette. The colour palette includes greys, browns and greens. The monotony of the colour scheme is broken by pops of colour in the furnishings and tiles, and vibrant paintings that are strategically placed throughout the house. Additionally, the apartment has a natural material palette of granite stone in different hues and patterns and wooden elements.
